Circuit Overseer

Traveling to strengthen congregations across a circuit

About This Role

The circuit overseer is an experienced elder appointed by the branch to travel among the congregations in a circuit — typically 15 to 20 congregations. He and his wife visit each congregation twice a year, spending a week with each one to encourage, train, and support the local elders and publishers.

The circuit overseer role is full-time service in the truest sense. He and his wife simplify their lives to travel and pour themselves into the spiritual welfare of the brothers and sisters in their circuit. It's a deeply rewarding, relationship-rich life of service.

What to Expect at the Booth

  • Hear from a circuit overseer (or his wife) about what the life is really like
  • Learn what qualifications and experience are needed before being appointed
  • Understand the schedule — how visits work and how they live on the road
  • Get insight into the joys and challenges of this unique form of service
  • Find out how young brothers can start working toward this goal

Who This Is For

This booth is for brothers who aspire to serve in an expanded capacity and their wives or potential future wives. The circuit overseer role requires an elder with substantial experience in congregation oversight, so it's a long-term goal — but every brother who aspires to it should start building the qualifications now.
